I cannot recommend Virtuoso Legal highly enough, particularly Liz and Sarvenaz, who recently supported me through a trademark dispute.
After receiving correspondence from the IPO regarding an application for a trademark identical to one I already owned, I was advised to make direct contact with the applicant to see whether the matter could be resolved amicably. Despite outlining the clear areas of conflict and potential marketplace confusion, the applicant indicated they wished to proceed with the application and suggested ways both brands could coexist.
At that stage, I was recommended to Virtuoso Legal — and from the very first interaction, the experience was exceptional.
Liz and Sarvenaz took the time to properly understand both my position and the outcome I was hoping to achieve. They carefully reviewed the similarities between my trademark and the proposed application, explained the legal position clearly, and provided honest, expert guidance on the strength of my case and the potential next steps should the matter progress further.
What stood out most was their communication. It was always efficient, responsive and professional — particularly refreshing compared to experiences I’ve had with other legal firms. Importantly, they explained everything in plain English, making what could have been a very overwhelming process feel manageable and easy to understand for someone outside of the legal profession.
With their guidance, we drafted a response to the applicant’s proposal, which ultimately resulted in the application being withdrawn. This potentially saved me significant further legal costs and a much longer dispute process.
