Steer well clear of Sydney Mitchell for probate services. They have unclear billing that rapidly increases in cost once you are committed and they draw the process out unnecessarily.
After answering a probate questionnaire with all the details of the estate, I was provided a quote of c.£2,500. After making a payment on account of £1,440, it took them 6 weeks to do nothing other than come back with a revised estimate of c.£7,000! Safe to say I terminated my contract with them. Their bill for this? It miraculously ended up being the exact amount I had paid them on account. £1,440 to cover the cost of a one hour meeting and the time it took them to generate a new quote asking for a further £5,560!
There are far more cost effective law firms out there that are clear on their pricing, proactive and quick.

Would advise caution. In fact, we are still awaiting settlement and they don't return calls. Jessica Ball is the paralegal dealing with this. Poor service.

I had the pleasure of working with Jamie and Christine on quite a complex matter involving International barriers and Divorce all thrown into the mix. They were extremely professional, diligent, responsive and were not deterred by any obstacles that were thrown in our way.
