WORST. SERVICE. EVER.
Forced to deal with them because I remortgaged to HSBC.
Awful communication and endless unnecessary delays. They requested information about title restrictions on my property: I sent the documents the very next day. Three weeks later, they claimed they had received no response to their emails and resent the request. Again, they received the documents the very next day. Another two weeks passed, so I chased them. The Optima representative confirmed that the documents had been received and that they were placed in the queue a week later (23 April) for processing. I asked for a time window, and they said it would be done within a week. I couldn’t resist pointing out that it was already 1 May, so what was going on? They promised it would be completed that day, but no later than 4 May.
Well… it ended up being processed on the 12th.
I called them for an update and was told to use their website’s “secure messaging system.” So I selected Remortgage, then Process update and sent a message. Two days later, I noticed I had received an auto‑generated reply immediately after sending it, saying: For process updates, check your tracker.
I WAS BEYOND FURIOUS.
Then, after finally getting a completion date, they messaged me on the day itself saying they were missing a document and I had two hours to provide it or face further delays. Obviously, it was something that couldn’t be done within three days, let alone two hours. They cancelled the completion and set another one weeks later.
Honestly, due to compound interest, I’ve lost far more on this whole ordeal than I’ll ever gain. I should have read the reviews first.
View this review on GoogleGood lord this company are slow. Avoid in my opinion and based on my experience. Do not use. I'm nearly 6 months in to a simple transfer the house from 2 people, to 1. The main delay is they did not read the remortgage contract sent by the bank properly, and missed key details. You message, it takes weeks for them to reply. You call, you're told you need to email them on the portal. It's bonkers.
Update, the bank ended up having to chase them up manually to resolve an issue that Optima had received weeks prior by email from the bank, more or less stating they hadn't read documents properly. I'm sure these guys are ace, but it's clearly a "take on as much work as possible" conveyor belt setup, and not enough time to work on each case quickly. I

Have nothing but praise for Optima. They did my remortgage including an equity transfer in 3 weeks. Cant ask for more than that
Their portal is easy to use and informative, i always been notified of progress often by telephone

View this review on GoogleHonestly, reading these reviews did make me worry. Because I was against the clock to get this remortgage done.
I have 4 properties now, and these are the best solicitors I’ve ever used. They were so so fast and efficient. We have completed today and it took a total of 10 working days.
Their online platform was easy to use and to upload documents. And it was easy to track, they also called me a few times to keep me updated.

View this review on GoogleBeyond horrendous. I have no idea how this company are still in operation. Getting hold of them is like getting hold of a winning lottery ticket. Shockingly bad customer service and terrible wait times for basic requests. A basic remortgage was made extremely stressful due to their incompetence.
Update: was able to get through to the SLT team at Optima who were extremely helpful and resolved my concerns within 10 minutes.
