The process was lengthy, although this was not due to Hugh James. The time was necessary to gather the evidence required to support the claim. Throughout, I was kept fully informed of progress, and any delays were clearly explained.
As part of the evidence-gathering process, I underwent several hearing assessments and consultations with a range of hearing specialists. Hugh James also invited me to participate in a hearing aid trial, allowing me to compare premium hearing aids with my NHS-issued devices. This was incredibly educational and will benefit me greatly when making decisions about future hearing aid purchases.
As my case was selected as a test case for the trial, a significant amount of time was invested in preparing witness statements and evidence. The Partner leading my case, Ruth Davies, was exceptionally supportive and flexible, working around my busy work and family commitments. Ruth consistently demonstrated compassion, patience and professionalism, helping me understand what were often complex legal processes and court procedures.
In the lead-up to the trial, Ruth and the wider team went above and beyond to ensure that I felt prepared and comfortable. They took the time to introduce me to the barrister team and arranged a visit to the court before proceedings began. At every stage, they made sure I understood what was happening, the potential implications for the case, and what to expect next. Their approach meant that I genuinely felt part of the team throughout the process rather than simply a client being represented.
I am extremely pleased with the outcome achieved and grateful for the support I received from everyone involved. I would not hesitate to recommend Hugh James to anyone pursuing a hearing loss claim or seeking professional, compassionate and highly effective legal representation.

View this review on GoogleI started my claim with Hugh James in 2018 and from the start I was informed and kept up to date on my hearing claim, then when Covid hit and everything seemed to go really slow but I know that Hugh James was doing a lot of work in the background gathering all my previous history, this had helped me a lot when I was looking at going to the Supreme Court, Nikolai and his team have helped me get to where I am now and have also got me a bigger claim than I ever expected.
