We used Foley's Solicitors for our first house buying process. Unfortunately there were a few mistakes but they were rectified quickly which is why I can only give 4 stars. However, I would say our allocated Solicitor, Syria was absolutely fantastic. She was clear and thorough all the way through the process as well as being a friendly and reassuring voice on the phone. Couldn't thank her more for sorting out our completion with quite a time pressure, due to my partner starting his new job within a few days of the exchange.

The sale of my Nan’s property was an incredibly stressful and frustrating experience from start to finish. Communication was poor throughout, with urgent emails and queries often taking days to receive a response. Rather than being kept informed, I found myself constantly chasing for updates and progress.
One of the biggest issues was the lack of continuity. Throughout the transaction, we dealt with five different solicitors, and it became clear that information was not being proactively passed on when files were transferred. Each time a new person took over, we found ourselves repeating information, chasing updates, and trying to bring them up to speed on matters that should already have been known.
The transaction was plagued by delay after delay. We were repeatedly told that “this is the final thing needed” before exchange or completion could take place, only for another issue, query, or request to suddenly arise. This happened multiple times, creating unnecessary stress and uncertainty throughout the process.
To make matters worse, on the day of completion itself, we were being asked to provide bank details and passport identification that had already been submitted earlier in the transaction. At such a crucial stage of the process, this demonstrated a concerning lack of organisation and attention to detail, and only added further stress to an already difficult experience.
By the end, I felt that I had done more chasing, phoning, and coordinating than the solicitors themselves. A property transaction is stressful enough without having to constantly pursue the people you are paying to act on your behalf.
Overall, the service fell far below expectations. Poor communication, lack of organisation, repeated requests for information already provided, constant delays, and a lack of proactive case management made what should have been a straightforward process far more difficult than it needed to be.
I would not recommend this firm, avoid at all costs!
