I cannot recommend Favell Smith & Lawson Solicitors highly enough.
I recently had a very stressful motoring case at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court and from the very beginning the team were professional, supportive and extremely knowledgeable.
On my first court appearance on 5 March, Kaidee Brown represented me. She was calm, well prepared and made me feel reassured during what was my first ever experience in court. Her professionalism and clear communication helped me stay confident throughout the hearing.
My case was then handled more closely by Mark Dooley, Director at the firm, who took the time to review everything carefully and guide me through the process. His experience and attention to detail were outstanding. He explained every step clearly and made sure I understood my options.
Thanks to their hard work, dedication and expertise, the case was ultimately discontinued and the matter resolved. Throughout the whole process I felt that I was in very capable hands.
If you are looking for solicitors who are professional, knowledgeable and genuinely care about their clients, I would highly recommend Favell Smith & Lawson.

In my experience, there was zero effort to challenge anything or properly defend me. It felt like they had no interest in my case from the start and were only focused on getting paid.
Every bit of communication seemed to revolve around money rather than progress or support. I was treated like a number, not a client. Trying to get hold of anyone was a nightmare — calls and emails were ignored for weeks, and when they finally responded, it was too late to be of any real help.
What made it worse was being pushed to accept a plea, which felt more about them avoiding the work of a two-day trial than acting in my best interests. There was no sense of them wanting to fight for me at all — just the easiest option for them.
The lack of preparation was shocking. Despite me trying to make contact well in advance, the only proper discussion before my trial was a phone call the night before. That is completely unacceptable and shows a total lack of professionalism and care.
I am beyond frustrated with how I was treated. I felt completely let down, ignored, and undervalued throughout the entire process. If you want proper representation and someone who actually cares about your case, stay well away from this firm.

You can tell Mark combines real expertise with genuine care for his clients. The whole firm is professional and friendly, which makes a stressful process much easier. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Mark and Favell Smith & Lawson to anyone who needs legal advice.

He was professional yet caring, and even though my situation could be seen as less important, he never made me feel that way, quite the opposite. He went the extra mile to make me feel more comfortable and he made sure to get me an outcome that would benefit me. It’s a shame we met under bad circumstances but nevertheless, it was a pleasure to work with him. I would highly recommend Mark.
