I was extremely disappointed with Beeston Shenton and, in particular, with the handling of my matter by director Eleanor Adams.
Over a lengthy period, I repeatedly raised the same important evidential and document issues in writing and supplied organised supporting material. In my experience, my instructions were not adequately followed and key documents were not reviewed or used as I reasonably expected.
When I was eventually provided with a fuller set of records, I identified apparent material inconsistencies very quickly. This left me seriously concerned about why those matters had not been identified and addressed earlier by the professional team already holding the documents.
Communication and file provision were also poor. I repeatedly requested important documents but received delayed, partial or unclear responses. I was told that technical problems were preventing the provision of a document bundle, but I did not consider the explanation satisfactory and no timely alternative arrangement was made.
The firm then stopped acting before I considered the document handover complete, leaving me to obtain records and deal with urgent outstanding matters myself.
Given Eleanor Adams’ senior position as a director, I expected a substantially better standard of document review, communication, accountability and client care. I have submitted a formal complaint.
Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend Beeston Shenton.

There is no communication, I constantly had to ring up and email asking for updates, I’d receive no replies, told someone would get back to me and they wouldn’t so I’d have to chase up again. The fees said one thing and then they charged us way extra but because it was a phone call we were told the original price, we had no proof. I was constantly having to push them to actually do things. There was no chain involved yet nobody seemed like they could be bothered to do anything. I kept expressing the urgency in the end to move but once again, they weren’t bothered. Then finally a date was set. We had moving vans ready, things ready to be delivered, booked the day off work and were up early and loaded the car. We hadn’t heard from them though all morning so I ring up, they hadn’t even bothered to start the process that day. Our mortgage advisor wasn’t hopeful it was going to go ahead as the solicitors once again, hadn’t bothered to release the funds or whatever it is they do. We received no apology, nothing. I ended up in tears from the stress. Funnily enough though the solicitors were eager to take the money we owed them and the extra they had added on. A process that was meant to be exciting as it was out first house way nothing but stressful and ruined the whole experience. NEVER EVER use these solicitors.
